Jim Brennan, Principal
Jim started his career in Product Marketing at DuPont before moving into various sales positions. In his first territory assignment he increased electronic component sales over 400%. He paved the way for a DuPont and StorageTek JV that resulted in the creation of a division that grew from zero to over $100M in revenues in a 3-year span.
As a small business owner, he has a proven track record of delivering multi-million dollar results for multinational electronics, contract manufacturing and material science companies as well as established Fortune 500 enterprises such as GE, Motorola, Tyco, Kyocera and Intel. At Seagate, Jim initiated custom engagements that resulted in over $60M in new revenues annually and was instrumental in managing the offshore transitioning process for companies such as Atmel Corp where he received the Chairman’s award for three consecutive years. For GE, Jim captured a $10M engagement for product used in the first “burnable” CD Writer by Hewlett-Packard.
Before joining OneAccord, Jim was the founder of QuestMark, a business development and interim executive company. His experiences include:
- Founder, custom ASIC design services company
- Co-founder Electronic Contract Manufacturing (ECM) company
- President, Microsoft Premier Project Management
- Managing Director, Denver-based investment banking firm
- CEO/President, Vacation Resort company
In the B2B sector, Jim excels at understanding the Sales Channel. This includes providing functional assessments and recommended strategies for direct sales management, independent sales rep organizations, distribution and reseller networks. Companies who are faced with competitive threats from outsourcing and off-shoring will rely on Jim’s experience in Asia to analyze and develop a framework to capitalize on opportunities both short term and long term.
Jim is always seeking creative win-win solutions and has a short “time-to-intimacy” with his clients enabling him to seamlessly interact with C-level executives to foster deal flow. With a good understanding of CRM/SFA, he works in tandem with the CMO and the CFO to capture relevant metrics to enable realistic reporting and forecasting practices in functional organizations. In project-based organizations, Brennan understands how to manage scope, flow, process and milestones in order to achieve success.
Jim has a BA degree in Pre-Law from Penn State University and has an MBA degree with a specialization in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix.
Jim and his wife, Laurie, live in Castle Rock, outside of Denver and are both avid golfers and skiers. They also enjoy trips to Boulder to visit their kids who attend CU.
