John B. Savage, Principal - NFP Practice

John B. Savage is the co-founder and Principal of the Not-For Profit Practice of OneAccord LLC. He has been working and partnering with NFP executives and organizations for nearly 30 years.

His clients represent entrepreneurial start-ups to organizations celebrating their 100th anniversary. He has served private schools, large and small church boards, family and church foundations, rescue missions, camps, overseas ministries, foster care agencies, hospitals, inner-city outreaches to the poor, as well as faith-filled family businesses and their leaders, among others.

Helping clients grow their revenue and transition through changes in leadership are his specialties. As a teacher, leadership coach, organizational expert, revenue revivalist, and strategic thinker, John is most often retained for capital campaigns, donor development counsel & training, strategic planning, board development and executive coaching.

During his career he was appointed to chair United Way's Hispanic Leadership Institute, produced a mentor/protégé audio training as well as a stewardship audio training, and hosted Leadership Lifestyles, a daily radio program in Seattle, which featured interviews with Christians in leadership.

He received a B.S. in Physics from Denison University where he also minored in Latin American Studies to explore economic and technology development in the third world. He earned an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University while working as the VP for Development within the Inner City of Los Angeles at Union Rescue Mission.

John currently serves on the teaching faculty of City Vision College, is an Independent Study Advisor in Leadership for Bakke Graduate University, serves as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Des Moines, Washington and Chairs the Board of Des Moines Creek Classical Christian Academy, near Seattle.

He is a columnist for InSite Magazine and the Publisher of Boardwise, a bi-monthly newsletter on Stewardship and Leadership for board members of Christian ministries in North America. He can be found teaching fundraising, leadership, and board development at various national conferences including Christian Leadership Alliance, Engstrom Institute, Council of Christian Colleges and Universities, Association of Gospel Rescue Mission, Christian Camping and Conference Association, Association of Christian Schools International, among others.

John and Nancy have two children, and reside in the Seattle area where they enjoy boating, fishing and the outdoors.
