Tom Scott has 35 years experience with broad leadership and P&L expertise in all aspects of worldwide corporate operations, marketing, marketing communications and business development in the technology industry. His extensive experience ranges from startup companies to multibillion fortune 500 companies, where he has successfully implemented new business strategies and cultures to reduce costs, improve sales performance, and position companies for success. He has a proven record of identifying key market segments, managing change, and building and motivating teams to achieve record revenue growth.
Tom has served most recently as CEO of Sentia Group Inc., a high end services company focusing on the DOD and Intelligence community. Sentia Group simulates the dynamics of behavior in the decision-making process to give clients detailed insights on decision based outcomes. He served as President and COO of Enpointe Technologies, a $400 million IT Company (NASDAQ: ENPT) and has held the position of Executive Vice President at Quantum, a $4 Billion high technology storage company (NYSE:DSS). After Samsung's acquisition of AST Research, Tom served as Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and marketing re-introducing AST computers into the worldwide market.
As general manager of the Computer Systems Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Tom increased revenues from 1.5 billion dollars to 3.5 billion; widened Toshiba's lead market share in the US portable category from 19% to 24%, and lead Toshiba's entry into the consumer desktop market. As Vice President of sales for Toshiba's Computer Systems Division, he grew sales revenues from $350 million dollars per year to $1.5 billion.
Prior to joining Toshiba in 1990, he held various positions at AST Research Inc. including vice president of sales, vice president of channel marketing, and vice president of marketing and sales for AST's enhancement Product Division. He also served as director of sales for Tandon Corp. and worked for IBM's Entry Systems Division when the original IBM Personal Computer was introduced in 1982.
Tom received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, and his MBA from Pepperdine University. Tom also served as a Naval Aviator.
Throughout his career, Tom has emphasized the importance to senior management of creatively using people in imaginative combination with technology to carry out the mission, strategies, and objectives of their enterprise.
